FAS OPENED A CASE AGAINST “AVTOVAZ”

The antimonopoly body sees elements of coordination of dealers’ economic operations

FAS completed an inspection of “AVTOVAZ” PJSC, during which signs of coordinating economic activity of its authorized dealers for vehicle maintenance.

Suspicions were caused by information letters addressed to top-executives of the dealer network that contained estimates of the technical maintenance costs and the final prices published on the dealer portal.

Some dealers were guided by those prices in their operations, which, in FAS opinion, could have resulted in fixing and maintaining prices for vehicle maintenance services.

Thus, FAS opened an antimonopoly case against “AVTOVAZ” PJSC upon elements of violating Part 5 Article 11 of the Federal Law “On Protection of Competition”.
