FAS INCREASES AWARENESS REGARDING FOREIGN INVESTMENTS
Representatives of the antimonopoly body discussed interaction with the business community with regard to mergers and acquisitions
On 20 April FAS representatives took part in a conference on legal issues of mergers and acquisitions.
Deputy Head of FAS Department for Control over Foreign Investments Alexander Poroshin highlighted some aspects of the Antimonopoly Service as the body authorized to control foreign investments. He presented the ten-year practice of enforcement of the Law on the procedure for foreign investments and the prospects of improving the law in this field. The audience showed a vivid interest to the topic.
“The work on interacting with business should be geared to raise awareness, and focus on prevention. Our petitioners should understand clearly in what cases they should approach FAS, when risks emerge, to find out whether they do not violate the law. We undertake this work, particularly, through such platforms, where we can ask any emerging questions”, pointed out FAS representative.
