MAXIM OVCHINNIKOV: FAS WILL OFFER MAXIMUM SUPPORT TO THE REGIONS IN DEVELOPING COMPETITION

Deputy Head of FAS Maxim Ovchinnikov discussed the progress in implementing the National Plan for Developing Competition in the Ivanovo region with top regional officials

 

On 18 June 2018, Deputy Head of FAS Maxim Ovchinnikov had a meeting at the Government of the Ivanovo region with Acting Governor of the Ivanovo region,  Stanislav Voskresensky; Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Ivanovo region – Head of Economic Development of  the Ivanovo region, Svetlana Davletova; top departmental officials of the Ivanovo region, representatives of regional NGOs.

 

The focus was on the progress in implementing the National Plan for Developing Competition, approved byNo.618 Presidential Order.

 

Maxim Ovchinnikov presented FAS approaches to implementing the National Competition Development Plan for and the instructions issued upon the meeting of the State Council on advancing competition.

 

The parties discussed, for instance, the methods to devise the key indicators for developing competition and the Action Plan (“Road Map”) for competition support in the Ivanovo region.

 

“The region must devise a “Road Map for developing competition. It should comprise at least 33 indicators (markets) out of 41, taking into account the local specifics. FAS is ready to offer maximum methodological and practical support to the regional authorities to pursue the goals”, said Maxim Ovchinnikov.

 

A vivid interest was shown to collection and processing of initial, particularly, statistical data on developing competition in various sectors.

 

Svetlana Davletova thanked Maxim Ovchinnikov, pointing out that such form of cooperation between the federal regulator and executive bodies of the Ivanovo region is quite productive and, undoubtedly, will have a positive impact upon implementing the National Competition Development Plan in the region.
