Deputy Head of FAS Sergey Puzyrevsky and Acting Head of Dagestan, Vladimir Vasiliev, concluded an Agreement on Cooperation between FAS and the Republic of Dagestan

The Agreement was signed during the working visit of FAS delegation to Dagestan on implementing the National Competition Development Plan and instructions issued following the meeting of the State Council.

The parties agreed to cooperate in order to protect competition, create conditions for efficient market performance and pursue the state policy towards developing competition in Dagestan.

The discussion covered methods for devising the key indicators on developing competition in the region. The subject must draft a “Road Map” for developing competition in the region that should include sectoral markets with underdeveloped competition, recommended by the Working Group for the State Council on developing competition.

The regional leaders informed about an interest to include the maximum indicators in the “Road Map” for developing competition in Dagestan - 41 markets and provide for a possibility to expand it to 42 indicators. The region is extremely interested in developing the tourist market.

FAS and Dagestan Government are now working together on the parameters and key indicators of the Road Map, and including an additional market.

“Under the Agreement, FAS will offer comprehensive support to Dagestan in achieving the goals of the National Competition Development Plan, and will pay special attention to the sectors of principal importance for the regional economy. For instance, Dagestan was asked to be on the list of the regions for the pilot competition development project. At a request of Dagestan Head, the work on developing competition in the region will be specially controlled by the antimonopoly body”, concluded Sergey Puzyrevsky.
