FAS SUPPORTS OPERATORS FOR ZEROING OUT THE INCOMING CALL RATES

On 6 August, after suspending the meeting of FAS Commission on cases against the “Big Three” operators to liquidate the intra-network roaming, “VympelCom” PJSC and “MegaFon” PJSC made an announcement on its official web-site about zeroing out the fee for all incoming calls for subscribers traveling outside the home region.

So far, subscribers receive incoming calls from the regions beyond their home region at 5 RUB / min.

FAS Commission analyzed the company’s actions and took them into account making decisions on antimonopoly cases on 8 August.

“We welcome the efforts undertaken by “VympelCom” PJSC and “MegaFon” PJSC and think that they are conducive to fair conditions for the subscribers. Certainly, we expect that other operators will undertake all necessary conditions to abolish the intra-network roaming and offer a possibility for the subscribers to obtain cellular communications services while travelling across Russia without any mark-ups, exactly in line with the conditions in the home region in the near future and by a precisely determined date as, for example, “VympelCom” PJSC” did, pointed out Deputy Head of FAS Anatoly Golomolzin.
