FAS RESEARCH-AND-METHODOLOGICAL COUNCIL SUMMED UP THE RESULTS OF 2018
In its opinion, 2018 marked a significant progress in training new competition law specialists
The Council Chairman, Deputy Head of FAS Sergey Puzyrevskiy reported: “Many milestone events happened in 2018 that, in my personal view, are positive. We were actively involved in implementing the National Competition Development Plan. I would like to thank all members of the Research-and-Methodological Council for the work done”.
As a serious achievement, Deputy Head of FAS highlighted making “Competition Law” a new academic specialization for Candidate of Science and Doctor Degrees.
“Recently, applicants already sat qualifying exams for the Candidate of Science Degree in “Competition Law” at Moscow State Law Academy named after Kutafin. We expect first degree holders to qualify in the next few years”, clarified Sergey Puzyrevskiy.
Head of FAS Legal Department, Artem Molchanov summed up the results for the past three years and gave statistics for increasing the number of Antimonopoly Regulation Departments (52 Departments so far), but pointed out that “our job is the quality rather than quantity of teaching the fundamental principles of competition protection and development”.
The results of the work in the previous period were publishing several educational and materials and guidelines, a collection of papers and monographs. Three educational programmes are approved. It became a standard of work for the Departments and such work will be continued.
Artem Molchanov suggested that to pursue efficient work, sub-groups should be formed. Head of Nizhny Novgorod OFAS, Mikhail Teodorovich was asked to lead the “Economic” Sub-Group and Head of Saratov OFAS, Lyudmila Borisova – the “Law” Sub-Group.
The proposal was supported. The Sub-Groups list will be compiled by the next meeting.
