ANDREY TSARIKOVSKIY: INFLUENCE ON THE MARKET IS MORE IMPORTANT THAN MARKET SHARE
Representatives of FAS and Iran Competition Authority exchanged experiences of suppressing antimonopoly violations
On 15 May 2019, duringPetersburg International Legal Forum – 2019, Stats-Secretary, Deputy Head of FAS Andrey Tsarikovskiy had a meeting with Deputy Head of State Tazirat Organization* on violations prevention (the Islamic Republic of Iran), Mohammad Barani.
The parties discussed pressing issues of enforcement practice and developing competition environment as well as the prospects of further bilateral cooperation.
It involved, in particular, exposing violations of the antimonopoly law and holding the violators liable, as well as pursuing measures designed to restore competition on the market.
“Today we are approaching revision of the antimonopoly law since the modern economy dictates new doing-business conditions. Now it is the influence upon the market rather than market share that is important”, emphasized Andrey Tsarikovskiy.
He invited representatives of State Tazirat Organization to take part in FAS panel discussion on modernization of the antimonopoly law in the digital economy and suppressing digital cartels, which is part of the Forum programme on 16 May.
