BELGOROD REGIONAL AUTHORITIES PRESENTED AN UPDATED ROAD MAP FOR DEVELOPING COMPETITION

It includes three additional markets: sale of agricultural products, financial and IT services

 

The updated Road Map for developing competition in the region in 2019-2021 is approved by an Order of Governor of the Belgorod region in September 2019 after coordinating it with FAS.

 

The key objectives of the Road Map is to ensure efficient competition policy and, as a consequence shaping favourable environment  for developing entrepreneurship and fair competition between economic entities in the sectors of Belgorod regional economy in the interests of consumers of goods and services.

 

The Road Map outlines systemic measures designed to intensify competition in the Belgorod region in the main areas determined by the Competition Development Standard. The Road Map covers 36 regional markets that were chosen upon analyzing annual monitoring data on the state and development of the competitive environment inn the Belgorod region. The Road Map also comprises the results of consumer and entrepreneurial surveys.

 

Head of FAS Legal Department Artem Molchanov added that Road Maps are updated in view of the specifics of the economy in each region. The Road Map for Belgorod was added the markets of sale of agricultural products, financial and IT services.

 

“Each region of Russia must submit a draft updated Road Map for approval. The Road Maps are based on several criteria and accounts for the specifics of each regional economy, and opinions of consumers and businesses. I’d like to emphasize that it is essential to promptly mainstream data and finalize the work on approving the Road Maps”, said Artem Molchanov.

 

Under the Road Map approved for the Belgorod region, by 1 January 2022 the share of private companies on the market of solid household waste services should reach 100%, the share of private medical facilities operating within the mandatory insur4ance system – at least 46.5%, and the share of private companies providing social services should increase to at least 13.6%.

 

To assist regions, FAS has drafted the Road Map Guidelines with a suggestive list of measures that each region can expand.
