Establishing FAS Department at Saratov State University is another stage in the work on competition advocacy

Stated Deputy Head of FAS Andrey Kashevarov in a welcoming address at the official ceremony of signing an agreement to establish a Department of antimonopoly regulation and competition development in Chernyshevsky Saratov State University.

The official agreement on cooperation between in Chernyshevsky Saratov State University and the Office of the Federal Antimonopoly Service in the Saratov region and an agreement on establishing the Department for antimonopoly regulation and competition development were signed on 28 April 2016.

Acting Rector – Vice-principal on Academic-and-Methodological Work at Chernyshevsky Saratov State University, Elena Yelina; Dean of the Law Faculty of Saratov State University, Galina Komkova; Deputy Head of FAS, Andrey Kashevarov; the Head of Saratov OFAS, Lyudmila Borisova, took part in the ceremony of signing the agreement.

In the welcoming address Andrey Kashevarov pointed out that establishing FAS Department at Saratov State University is another stage in the work on competition advocacy.

On behalf of the University Rector, Elena Yelina congratulated the participants of the official ceremony with such an important event. She underlined the significance of opening FAS Department in terms of approximating training and practice and subsequent employment of the graduates.

In her welcoming remarks, Lyudmila Borisova said that the idea of establishing the Department had been born in the course of communication with OFAS staff members – graduates of Saratov University, who are convinced that the basic principles of antimonopoly law must be taught at the University. She also emphasized the strong school of patent councils at the University and multi-year successful cooperation with patent councils in suppressing unfair competition.

The leading expert of Saratov OFAS, Nikolai Remizov, outlined the efforts to establish the Department of antimonopoly regulation.

After the official ceremony of signing the agreements, the Head of FAS Department for Control over Advertising and Unfair Competition, Nikolai Kartashov, read a lecture to the students on the legal basis for preventing and suppressing unfair competition.
