Court confirmed a fine for an official of “TransPek” Ltd.
On 1 July 2016 Presnya District Court, Moscow, pronounced legitimacy and reasonableness of a FAS determination to impose a fine upon an official of “TransPek” Ltd. based on the findings on a collusion case (restricting competition in the course of providing postal carriage services).
On 11 June 2015 FAS found that “Russian Post” Federal State Unitary Enterprise and “TransPek” Ltd. Violated 4 Article 11 of the Federal Law “On Protection of Competition” by concluding and implementing an anticompetitive agreement that led to restricting competition in the course of rendering postal carriage services. As a result, companies that used to be involved in the public procedures of “Russian Post” to determine the supplier of carriage services were pushed out from this market segment.
“The Court judgment once again confirmed inevitability of punishment for officials of the organizations directly making decisions on concluding and participating in an anticompetitive agreement. The antimonopoly body continues taking efforts to expose and suppress such violations, particularly, in the field of postal services”, pointed out the Head of FAS Anti-Cartel Department, Andrey Tenishev.
