2.5 million RUB for unlawful coordination of economic activity
Moscow Arbitration Court confirmed legitimacy of a fine imposed upon “Ford Sollers Holding” Ltd.
The case was transferred to the Central Office of the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS Russia) from FAS Office in the Republic of Tatarstan that had carried out a scheduled inspection of “Ford” official dealers operating in Tatarstan. Based on its findings, the antimonopoly body initiated the proceedings.
Investigating the case, the FAS Commission established that the company had sent informational letters to its dealers on the costs of technical maintenance of “Ford” vehicles, which resulted in fixing and maintaining the relevant prices.
“For this violation of the Federal Law “On Protection of Competition” the company was fined 2.5 million RUB”, added the Head of FAS Legal Department, Artem Molchanov.
“Ford Sollers Holding” Ltd. filed a lawsuit challenging the fine; however, the Court of First Instance emphasized legitimacy of the actions undertaken by the Antimonopoly Service.
