Moscow OFAS exposed a cartels of suppliers of medical equipment for hospitals in the capital city

Moscow OFAS exposed a cartel of medical companies throughout 18 auctions with the overall maximum contract price exceeding 37 million RUB.

OFAS concluded that “MedTime” Ltd., “MEDSTANDART-DM” Ltd., “MedDoaLog” Ltd and “NIITs” Ltd., bidding to supplies of medical products and special medical equipment, exchanged information and operated n the interests of each other, which resulted in maintaining auction prices. As a result, one of the above companies would win the actions with 1-1.5% reduction of the initial price.

The equipment and medical products were procured for the needs of branches of Botkin City Clinical Hospital, Kulakov Research Centre of Obstetrics and Gynecology, the “Central Clinical Hospital for Medical Rehabilitation” Federal Medical-and-Biological Agency, and some other medical institutions in Moscow and the medical region.

In the near future, an administrative case will be open against medical companies - cartel participants. The fines for legal entities participating in the anticompetitive agreement can be from 10% to 50% of the initial maximum value of the subject of the auctions.
