From 1 July 2017 the reduction will be 19%

On 14 March 2017, FAS Board decided to reduce electric power tariffs for the population of the Kurgan region by 19%.

According to the available information, the costs of electric power in the region are the highest amongst the subjects of the Russian Federation in the Urals Federal District.

Looking into the issue, the collegial body of the antimonopoly authority decided to reduce the ceiling maximum and minimum tariff levels for the electric power, which will reduce its prices for the population.

The decision factors in No. 417-r Order of the Government of the Russian Federation of 09.03.2017.

Deputy Head of FAS Vitaly Korolev stated: “Together with the Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation, the Ministry for Economic Development and the regional tariff regulator, FAS have undertaken enormous efforts that resulted in a considerable tariff reduction for the population. The decision is in line with FAS strategy on leveling tariffs in adjacent and comparable regions”.
