Andrey Tsarikovskiy had a working meeting with the Governor of the Murmansk region
The meeting took place in the course of the visit of Deputy Head of FAS to the region
The parties discussed the state of competition in the Murmansk region and the prospects of its development.
“Intensive cooperation with the Federal Antimonopoly Service is of great significance for the Murmansk region. Development of the region is possible only under healthy competition, fair and open market. Competition protection and development, improving the antimonopoly policy is an important area of our work”, pointed out the Governor of the Murmansk region, Marima Kovtun. “I am convinced that close cooperation between the regional authorities and FAS bodies, joint events will additionally enhance its performance”.
In his turn, Stats-Secretary, Deputy Head of FAS Andrey Tsarikovskiy, confirmed the importance of cooperation between the antimonopoly bodies and the regional authorities and reminded about the current Agreement between FAS and the Government of the Murmansk region designed to protect competition.
Overall, Deputy Head of FAS gave a positive assessment of the regional efforts in the field of developing competition and emphasized the need to continue constructive efforts also in the field of tariff-setting: “In view of the specifics of the Polar region, the vastness of the region, absence of centralized gas supply, but at the same time has cheap tariffs for electric power. We have lots of themes for joint work”.
