FAS shares is anti-cartel experiences with Kazakhstan competition authority
In June 2016 the Committee on Regulation of Natural Monopolies, Protection of Competition and Consumer Rights at the Ministry of National Economy of the Republic of Kazakhstan formed the Anti-Cartel Department
On 18 July 2017, FAS representatives – Deputy Head of FAS Anti-Cartel Department, Olga Franskevich, and Head of the V Unit of FAS Anti-Cartel Department, Takhir Scherba, were speakers at a workshop on exposing and proving anticompetitive agreements*. They outlined qualification of such cases, methods of exposing and proving them, judicial practice and cooperation with the law enforcement bodies.
Representatives of Kazakhstan antimonopoly body stressed that Russian cartel-combating experience is very valuable for them.
Deputy Head of FAS Anti-Cartel Department, Olga Franskevich emphasized: “The Anti-Cartel Department of the Committee has recently turned one year. Our Kazakh colleagues are ready to make a new high-quality step towards improving their enforcement practice. We hope that our experience will be useful for the staff of the antimonopoly authority of the Republic of Kazakhstan”.
