Moscow Regional OFAS opened proceedings against “Lenta” and “METRO” for creating discriminatory conditions for suppliers
The antimonopoly body initiated case investigations upon breaching the Law on Trade
Following an unscheduled inspection, Moscow Regional OFAS exposed that supply contracts of “Lenta” Ltd. and “METRO Cash & Carry” Ltd. (“Lenta” and “METRO” retail chains) fixed different requirements for remunerations and fines, as well as different conditions for the periods of changing product prices. It indicates discriminatory conditions for suppliers and puts them in unequal position against each other.
Based on the ascertained facts, the antimonopoly body opened cases upon signs of violating Clause 1 Part 1 Article 13 of No.381-FZ Federal Law “On the Fundamental Principles of State regulation of Trade Activity in the Russian Federation” of 28.12.2009.
