FAS looks in the future
With the beginning of autumn and resuming the educational process, the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS Russia) once again has opened its doors to the visitors.
Students and schoolchildren interested in the economy and law and wishing to develop a career in those fields come for a visit to the antimonopoly body on a regular basis.
October in FAS started with a visit of future economists from RUDN. The first-year students came to a government body for the first time but came well prepared, with ready questions about the work of the antimonopoly body. They were interested in everything: the work of FAS structural units, the specifics of competition law, the history of antimonopoly regulation in Russia, experience of FAS international cooperation, possibility for internship with the antimonopoly body and build up a public service career in the future.
With great interest and excitement, the young visitors took part in a master-class given FAS Legal Department to consider cases from FAS practice. They actively used the knowledge they already gained, their everyday experiences and lecturer’s assistance. All groups of the master-class participants came to the same conclusion that violating the antimonopoly law is unacceptable and it is necessary to protect and develop competition as a pledge for successful Russian economy.
Head of FAS Public Relations Department, Irina Kashunina: "A visit to FAS for students and schoolchildren as future active market participants is not only important social work aimed at helping the oncoming generation in professional identity. It is also one of the elements of preventing violations under the frame of the ongoing control-and-supervision reform. Such FAS events can influence the state of competitive environment, its protection both today and tomorrow".
