BRICS COMPETITION AUTHORITIES SIGNED A JOINT DECLARATION
On behalf of FAS the declaration was signed by Stats-Secretary, Deputy Head of FAS Andrey Tsarikovskiy
In the joint Declaration signed on 10 November 2017 in Brasilia at the V BRICS Competition Conference, BRICS competition authorities recognize the importance of cooperation in the area of competition policy and antimonopoly enforcement.
Singing the document, BRICS also recognizes the need to search for solutions to global economic development issues, including growing inequality and the technological gap that is possible through market analysis.
To this purpose, BRICS competition authorities confirmed their adherence to the Memorandum of Understanding in the field of cooperation on competition law and policy signed in St Petersburg on 19 May 2016.
The parties to the Declaration acknowledge the need for further efforts towards unified multilateral cooperation through exchanging information and experience. They will continue discussing development of the common research platform on studying competition to support mutually beneficial cooperation between BRICS competition authorities.
The competition authorities of Brazil, India, China and South Africa supported the idea to hold the VI BRICS Competition Conference in 2019 in Russia.
