FAS IS READY FOR FIFA WORLD CUP

For FAS and other bodies involved in security arrangements, including legal security, the grandiose and unique FIFA 2018 World Cup is a crucial check of its practical efforts in the past 18 months in robust preparation for the event. In October 2016 the Committee for protection of FIFA property rights was formed that coordinates the work of various government agencies to suppress illegal use of  FIFA brands and counterfeit sales.

In view of the importance of such category of violations for the state of the competitive environment and the tight timeframe, the antimonopoly bodies initiate cases without prior warnings and squeeze the case consideration period to the maximum, including cases opened upon the facts of violating Article 20 of No.108-FZ Federal Law during the FIFA events – to 1-3 days after exposing the violations or receiving a statement on the fact of a violation by the antimonopoly authority.

FAS would like to emphasize once again that businesses planning to work during the World Cup should strictly and precisely observe the law when placing advertisements, organizing marketing campaigns and selling goods. Explanations about the main FAS approaches to investigating cases on violating FIFA property rights are published on FAS web-site.
