Deputy Head of FAS went on a working visit to St Petersburg and the Leningrad region
Stats-Secretary - Deputy Head of FAS, Andrey Tsarikovskiy discussed with the leadership of the above regions some pressing issues of implementing the National Competition Development and executing the instructions given by the President of the Russian Federation on the basis of the meeting of the State Council regarding competition development.
Deputy Head of FAShad a working meeting with the Governor of the Leningrad region, Alexander Drozdenko, when he discussed particular indicators for developing competition in regions and specific items chosen by the region.
He pointed out: “Overall, there are 41 indicators. A region must choose at least 33 and achieve them. These are the markets where the regions will increase the share of private companies and reduce the state share. By 1 December a “Road Map” for developing competition must be devised”.
Andrey Tsarikovskiyheld an open meeting of FAS and the Government of St Petersburg and the Leningrad region in Smolny.
Attendees included St Petersburg Vice-Governor, Sergey Movchan; Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Leningrad region – Chairman of the Committee for Economic Development and Investments, Dmitry Yalov; Head of Leningrad OFAS, Alexander Pleteshkov; and Deputy Head of St Petersburg OFAS, Vyacheslav Tukaev.
“Developing private sector in the regions, reducing the number of budgetary entities, privatizations – that is what we together will be working in the next few years. At the present stage, regions must set priorities to develop competition”, summed upAndrey Tsarikovskiy.
