COOPERATION BETWEEN BRICS COMPETITION AUTHORITIES WILL BE IN FOCUS OF DISCUSSION
On 18 September 2019, the program of BRICS International Competition Conference includes a plenary session on “Cooperation between BRICS competition authorities”, which will focus on equitable exchange of result-oriented experience in competition enforcement and information about regulatory practices in the antimonopoly field under the frame of international collaboration between competition bodies.
The session moderators will be Andrey Tsyganov, Deputy Head of FAS, and Ashok Kumar Gupta, Chairman of the Competition Commission of India.
The session participants will give examples of successful collaboration and interaction at the international level, share cooperation experiences of their countries. They will also look at the prospects of developing inter-state cooperation in the course of investigating particular cases on violating the antimonopoly law and analyzing global mergers and acquisitions.
Considerable attention will be paid to discussing the results of collaboration within BRICS Working Groups on studying competition issues on socially important markets.
Representatives of the antimonopoly authorities of all BRICS economies will take part in the plenary session to consider new opportunities for expanding five-way collaboration on the basis of BRICS Antimonopoly Centre.
Belarus Minister of Antimonopoly Regulation, Vladimir Koltovich, will describe the efforts of the Inter-State Council on Antimonopoly Policy chaired by Serik Zhumangarin, Minister on Competition and Antimonopoly Regulation of the Eurasian Economic Commission, and share experience of Eurasian economic integration.
