On 23 August 2019, Deputy Head of FAS Vitaly Korolev and Governor of the Arkhangelsk region Igor Orlov had talks on developing competition in the region.

Deputy Head of FAS pointed out that Arkhangelsk had demonstrated highly positive trends in executing the main targets of the National Competition Development Plan in the past year.

“Violations of the antimonopoly law by the authorities decreased by 44%, and the number of unitary enterprises went down by 21.99%. All this indicates focused efforts on developing competition and fulfilling the priorities set by the President of the Russian Federation”, informed Vitaly Korolev.

Deputy Head of FAS paid special attention to support to small and medium business (SME) in the region. The share of procurement from SME increased by 24.1%.

The Arkhangelsk region also developed a “SME Business-Navigator” information-and-analytical system. The basic function of the online-resource is to provide “one-stop-shop” access for businesspersons to information about all types of federal, regional and municipal support to small companies and about specialized financial-and-credit products.

Businessmen use this resource actively. It helps them find premises for a particular business to rent, obtain information about procurement plans of the largest customers and take advantage of analytical materials”, emphasized Vitaly Korolev.

The parties also discussed essential services for the population. The Arkhangelsk region shows high satisfaction of the population with regard to the main social markets: from 70.1 % on the medical services market to 99.7 % on the market of social services to the population.

“It means that the measures undertaken to improve the life of the population in the region are right. This effect is generated due to the conditions formed by the authorities in the Arkhangelsk region, and there are all necessary enabling factors to develop competition, implement business initiatives and increase the well-being of the population”, concluded Vitaly Korolev.

On 23 August, Head of FAS appointed Anzor Psinshev a new Head of the antimonopoly body in Arkhangelsk. Vitaly Korolev presented Anzor Psinshev to Governor of the Arkhangelsk region and the staff of Arkhangelsk OFAS.
