ON-EXCHANGE TRADE WITH MINERAL FERTILIZERS DISCUSSED IN ORENBURG

A workshop of Orenburg OFAS focused on production and sale of mineral fertilizers, pricing on the domestic market in the Orenburg region and mechanisms for developing on-exchange trade

Attendees included Head of FAS Department for Fuel-and-Energy Complex and the Chemical Industry, Dmitry Makhonin; Acting Deputy Chairman of the Government – Minister of Agriculture, Food and Processing Industry of the Orenburg region, Valery Novozhenin; representatives of St Petersburg International Mercantile Exchange, agricultural producers, and of mineral fertilizers of the Orenburg region, companies that sell mineral fertilizers in the region.

Dmitry Makhonin pointed out that “on-exchange trade today is an important form of sale in terms of organization, scope and participation opportunities. Free pricing and publicity is a specific feature of on-exchange trade”.

He added that “each agricultural producer can find certain benefit for itself because exchange price is a market price, and it can be cheaper than in a direct contract. At the same time, the exchange ensures and guarantees execution of supplies of all goods bought”.
