Deputy Head of FAS and Governor of the Magadan region Sergey Nosov discussed “control points” of executing the National Competition Development Plan

According to FAS data, the main directions for developing the Magadan region are focused towards industrial production; there are also necessary actions by the authorities to support competition on the social and agro-industrial markets.

It was the focus of the meeting of Deputy Head of FAS Sergey Puzyrevsky and Governor of the Magadan region Sergey Nosov.

The region undertakes robust measures such as healthcare, social services for the population and children’s leisure. Also, a decision was made based on the results of the past meeting to include three additional – animal breeding, crop growing and tourism. Particular projects are already created to develop competition in these fields”, informed Sergey Puzyrevsky.

Deputy Head of FAS also pointed out that the task today is to form a package of measures to achieve the key targets on the balance of private and public sector. He emphasized that small and medium business does not always have access to financial resources, which incurs additional restrictions for business development.

“Only big companies can perform large projects. Many aspects of these projects can also be subcontracted by small and medium business. Shaping monopolistic markets in the course of implementing the National projects cannot be allowed.  The Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation pointed out that all federal and regional authorities had undertaken measures to support competition development in order to make the economy more efficient”, stated Sergey Puzyrevsky.

“12 National projects are implemented under the frame of the “May” order issued by the President of Russia. It is an extensive complex of social-and-economic measures leading to serious transformation of a lot of sectors. The goals of the Presidential order are to improve well-being of the population and breakthrough development of the economy. The National Competition Development Plan has the same goals. It is essential that implementing the National projects, we simultaneously improve the quality of economic development. FAS representatives now engage in all project offices for executing the National projects. FAS will interact with all authorities of the Magadan region on these issues”, addedDeputy Head of FAS.

Discussing 2019-2022 Road Map for competition support in the Magadan region, it was stressed that additions will be made to the Road Map in view of the comments and recommendations given at the meeting, and the Road Map will be presented in October.
