VLADIMIR MIHSELOVIN: OFAS PUBLIC COUNCIL WILL BE AN EFFICIENT BODY FOR PUBLIC CONTROL

The first meeting of the Public Council at Kemerovo OFAS was held on 6 September. Head of FAS Fiscal Control Department, Vladimir Mishelovin and Head of Kemerovo OFAS, Natalia Kukharskaya welcomed the members and informed them about the work of Public Councils at FAS regional Offices.

Vladimir Mishelovin relayed big FAS expectations regarding efficient performance of the Councils in anew format and explained how the system is organized at FAS Central Office.

He reminded about introducing the Competition Development Standard in the regions of the Russian Federation, each of which determined competition development targets in particular sectors of the economy.  

“We would like that the Public Councils at FAS regional Offices are directly involved in control over achieving the targets at the selected markets and most actively set into gear”, said Head of FAS Fiscal Control Department. “Members of the Public Council at Kemerovo OFAS are very much interested in cooperation and interaction with the Antimonopoly Service in the part of developing the regional economy. I wish that this enthusiasm and energy accompany the efforts of the Public Council so that in some time we can discuss not only problems but already the results achieved”.

The main items of the agenda were electing the chairman and his deputies and approving the action plan of the Council’s work till the end of the year. Yuri Doroshenko was unanimously elected the Chairman of the Public Council.  

At the moment the Council members are working on the proposals regarding candidatures of deputies and additional aspects of the Action Plan.
