MEDICINE CARTEL IS FINED 283.5 MILLION RUB

“Firma Evroservice” CJSC and “Mega Pharma” Ltd. will pay 234 million and 49.5 million RUB accordingly

Earlier FAS found that “Firma Evroservice” CJSC and “Mega Pharma” Ltd. breached Clause 2 Part 1 Article 11 of the Federal e-auction for supplying medicinal drugs and medical products in public healthcare facilities.

Income of cartel participants reached over 800 million RUB. Appeal Court supported the decision made by the antimonopoly body.

“Firma Evroservice” CJSC is on the Register of legal entities held administratively liable under Article 19.28 of the Code on Administrative Violations (unlawful remuneration on behalf of a legal entity), kept by the General-prosecutor’s Office of the Russian Federation.

According to the Register, in 2018 “Firma Evroservice” CJSC was held administratively liable twice for bribing medical officers or healthcare facilities, was fined 1 million RUB and cannot participate in auctions for two years are being included in the Register.

“Targeted anticompetitive conduct can be seen not only in their participation in the cartel but also in bribing staff of medical facilities. To prevent such illegal activities and possible recurrences, the antimonopoly body imposes notable fines upon violators and transfer materials to the law enforcement bodies in order to open a criminal case against unfair business”, commented Head of FAS Anti-Cartel Department Andrey Tenishev.
