ALEXEI DOTSENKO: WE HOPE IMPLEMENTING ROAD MAP IN KALININGRAD REGION WILL BE SUCCESS

Deputy Head of FAS Alexei Dotsenko had a working visit to the Kaliningrad region where he had a meeting with Governor Anton Alikhanov. The parties discussed cooperation between FAS and the region, including the plans to develop competition and entrepreneurship in the Kaliningrad region

Deputy Head of FAS pointed out that Kaliningrad was one of the first to coordinate the Road Map on competition development.

“We see an extended attention of the regional authorities to competition development. Drafting Road Map is not simple, and you are one of the first in Russia who completed it. The Kaliningrad region has a good Road Map and we can only praise your team. FAS hopes that implementing it will be no less successful and help improving economic performance of the region and increase well-being of the population”, said Deputy Head of FAS Alexei Dotsenko.

“I assess positively our cooperation in the recent years with both the Central and Kaliningrad FAS Offices. Our opinions not always match but we are moving on the same vector”, underlined Governor of the Kaliningrad region, Anton Alikhanov.

Head of the region outlined the results of centralizing procurement in the region. Now the Tender agency of the Kaliningrad region conducts most municipal procurement funded from the regional or federal budgets. Procurement in information technologies is centralized. Practice of joint procurement is implemented, which gives significant saving.

The parties also discussed possibility to organize the Competition Week in the Kaliningrad region in September 2020.

“It is a big international event. We will be happy if FAS leadership chooses our region for Competition Week-2020 and from our side will give all necessary support”, assured Anton Alikhanov.
