WORLD BANK EXPERTS ARE ANALYZING COMPETITION POLICY IN RUSSIA
The study findings were presented on 17 December at FAS
On 17 December 2019, Deputy Head of FAS Andrey Tsyganov held talks with Renaud Seligmann, the World Bank’s Country Director for the Russian Federation.
Representatives of the World Bank gave results of an analytical report on productivity and competition policy in Russia drafted by the World Bank based on the outcome of 2019. The parties also discussed further steps and spheres of cooperation in the field of competition and public procurement.
Deputy Head of FAS described the important areas of FAS work and the prospects of further cooperation.
“We discussed the concept of the report with the colleagues from the World Bank a year ago. And toady we are please to state that the Report has made it. Some conclusions reached by the experts, in my opinion, are even softer that we at FAS reach, but overall it fits the actual picture of the state of the competition policy in Russia. It seems that the conclusions and recommendations of this most interesting study deserve to be heard by a broad audience. Moreover, it can be used by FAS in its work on the next annual Report on competition development”, summed up Andrey Tsyganov.
