“Sangfei SES Electronics Rus” Ltd. is fined 2 000 000 RUB for coordinating economic activities of resellers of Philips smartphones

On 2 September 2019, FAS found that an official importer of Philips equipment had unlawfully coordinated economic operations of resellers of Philips smartphones that resulted in fixing and maintaining prices for the following smartphone models: Philips S309, Philips S307, Philips S337, that  are sold through retail facilities.

Staff of“Sangfei SES Electronics Rus” Ltd., who directly controlled that resellers observed their prices, were held administratively.

In the course of the case investigation, the company stopped coordinating economic operations and assisted the FAS Commission, which was taken into account imposing the fine.

Stats-Secretary, Deputy Head of FAS Andrey Tsarikovsky pointed out: “During several past years FAS has repeatedly exposed violations of the antimonopoly law on the markets of equipment sales: cases against Apple, LG, Samsung can serve as examples. Unlawful coordination of economic operations is very widespread in retail of household appliances. In this context, FAS exercises systematic control and monitoring of these markets”.
