ANDREY TSYGANOV AND LESYA DAVYDOVA TO TAKE PART IN THE MEETING OF THE BRICS COORDINATION COMMITTEE ON ANTIMONOPOLY POLICY
The BRICS Competition Authorities are currently actively preparing to organize the next meeting of the BRICS Coordination Committee on Antimonopoly Policy.
Traditionally, the BRICS Coordination Committee is held within the International event “Russian Competition Week”.
However, this year due to the spread of COVID-19, this event will be for the first time organized in a webinar format.
The BRICS Coordination Committee will be held in late October with the participation of deputy heads and heads or international relations departments of the BRICS Competition Authorities.
Within the meeting the BRICS Competition Authorities plan to discuss the recent results of joint work, as well as to figure out the cooperation agenda for the future.
The participants plan to focus on the interim results of the BRICS Working Groups for the Research of Competition Issues in Socially Significant Markets and the Prospects for the future activities of the BRICS Working Group on Cartels, to discuss a number of major joint projects, including the promotion of the BRICS International Competition Law and Policy Center, to raise issues of the development of the draft Model Recommendations on the application of waivers when considering global M&As in the BRICS member states, as well as to consider the preparations for the Seventh BRICS Competition Conference to be held in September 2021 in the People’s Republic of China.
