13-09-2021 | 13:51

The agency perceives in the actions of Salavatsteklo and Guardian Glass signs of abuse of a dominant position

In connection with the received statements about the increase in the cost of building materials, including flat glass, the FAS Russia conducted a market analysis and found that the market of flat glass is highly concentrated.

The collective dominant position in the market is occupied by several manufacturers, including Salavatsteklo and Guardian Glass.

The analysis showed that the price of flat glass in July 2021 increased by more than 80% compared to July 2020. While the increase in cost price was insignificant.

According to the FAS Russia, it indicates the presence of unreasonably high margins on products produced by companies.

The FAS Russia initiated a case on violation of antimonopoly legislation*.

If found guilty, organizations will face turnover fines in accordance with the Code of Administrative Offences of the Russian Federation.

* On the grounds of violation of the Paragraph 1 of the Article 10 of the Law on Protection of Competition
