FAS DEMANDED TELE2 TO REDUCE TARIFFS
The operator unreasonably increased the cost of mobile communication services and violated the antimonopoly legislation
On September 13, the FAS of Russia completed the consideration of the case on violation of the antimonopoly legislation in respect of LLC T2 Mobile.
It should be reminded that in January 2021, the company increased the cost of cellular services for more than 12 million of its subscribers-individuals by an average of 13 %, justifying the growth by increasing its costs.
The antimonopoly service received a large number of complaints from subscribers of the telecom operator. In February 2021, the FAS Russia initiated a case against the company for violation of antimonopoly legislation [1].
The antimonopoly authority found that the level of tariff increase was not due to an increase in costs, and recognized T2 Mobile LLC as violating the antimonopoly legislation.
Now the operator is obliged to return the unreasonably increased tariffs for cellular services to the level applied before the increase.
