TELE2 COMPLIED WITH THE REMEDIES IMPOSED BY FAS AND REDUCED ITS TARIFFS

11-01-2022 | 17:27

Earlier, FAS considered the cases of violations of antimonopoly law by OOO T2 Mobile. On May 12, 2020, the telecom operator has increased its tariffs by an average of 10% for more than 11.5 million subscribers. On January 1, 2021, it increased its tariffs by an average of 13%, affecting more than 12.5 million subscribers.

FAS stated that the operator set monopolistically high prices for its services and ordered it to bring tariffs to the level before the increase. The company appealed to the court, but the court supported the position of the authority.

OOO T2 Mobile did not appeal the case further and complied with the remedies imposed by the authority. From January 11, 2022, all unreasonably increased tariffs  will be reduced to the previous level. On January 1, 2022, the subscribers will be notified about the details of using tarrifs as from the New Year.
