FAS issued warnings to organizations in connection with public statements about the rising prices for flights
On March 22, 2022 a number of media quoted representatives of companies that predicted the rising prices for flights. Such statements can lead to an increase demand, which can be used by market participants to increase sales and negatively affect prices for the final consumer.
The Authority recalls that organizations are prohibited from coordinating economic activities if it can lead, among other things, to the establishment or maintenance of prices.
FAS warns about the obligation of strict compliance with the requirements of antimonopoly legislation. If signs of illegal behavior are detected and economically unjustified prices are set by individual companies, FAS will immediately take antimonopoly response measures and will stop unfair practices.
