In August 2021, the Authority found the company guilty in violating antimonopoly legislation. FAS imposed a turnover fine of 1.3 billion rubles on Booking for abusing its dominant position in the market.

The company imposed unfavorable terms of contracts on Russian hotels, according to which they were obliged to provide it and observe, on their part, parity of prices, availability of rooms and conditions in all channels of sales and distribution of their services. Such channels are metasearchers, travel agencies, other aggregators of information, as well as the websites of the hotels themselves and other accommodation facilities.

In November 2021, the Court confirmed the amount of the fine.

On April 7, 2022, the company paid 1.3 billion rubles to the budget of the Russian Federation.
