FAS INITIATED A CASE AGAINST SUPPLIERS OF EQUIPMENT FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF RAILWAY INFRASTRUCTURE
FAS has initiated a case on the violation of antimonopoly law* against BaltEnergoKomplekt-XXI VEK LLC, KS Komplekt LLC, Elektrotekhimport LLC, Baltic Engineering Company LLC and Zheldorkomplekt-SPB LLC. The agency suspects the companies of concluding an anti-competitive agreement in order to maintain prices during bidding for the supply of engineering, technological and other equipment for the construction of railway infrastructure of Russian Railways RZD OJSC. The total amount of initial (maximum) contract prices amounted to 9.8 billion rubles. The purchases were carried out in order to implement the project for the development of the railway infrastructure of the Baikal-Amur and Trans-Siberian highways in the territories of the Siberian and Far Eastern Federal Districts.
The main evidence was obtained by analyzing the behavior of participants during purchases for RZD OJSC, as well as in the framework of unscheduled on-site inspections.
If the violation is established, the companies will face turnover fines in accordance with Article 14.32 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation.
