THE COURT UPHELD FAS’S DECISION IN THE CASE AGAINST APPLE

22-04-2022 | 16:51

The Arbitration Court of the Moscow city confirmed the legality of the Authority's warning and the order of FAS to initiate proceedings against Apple.

It should be reminded that in October the Authority initiated a case against the company in connection with the failure to comply with FAS’FAS Russia found that paragraph 3.1 of the App Store Review Guide prohibits iOS-application developers from informing customers inside the application about the possibility of paying for purchases outside the App Store.

The company requires developers to remove links to their Internet resources and change the functionality of the application so that the registration form does not lead to external sites. Otherwise, the company does not allow applications in the App Store.

FAS came to the conclusion that by these actions Apple is abusing its dominant position in the market of distribution of applications for iOS.*
