FAS: THE EAEU COUNTRIES ARE WORKING TO STABILIZE THE ECONOMIC SITUATION NOT ONLY AT THE NATIONAL, BUT ALSO AT THE INTERSTATE LEVEL

The Head of FAS noted that this year the Authority has taken a set of measures to stabilize the situation in socially significant commodity markets.

FAS is also implementing a number of measures aimed at reducing the administrative burden on business. The Authority has developed a draft law aimed at simplifying the procedure for approving transactions – the document assumes the introduction of a notification procedure for approval for companies whose total asset value ranges from 800 million to 2 billion rubles.

Moreover,  work to stabilize the economic situation, taking into account the need to maintain and develop competitive conditions, is being carried out not only at the national levels in the Union countries, but also joint measures are being taken within the framework of the EAEU. In March 2022, the EEC Council approved a list of measures to improve the sustainability of the economies of the EAEU member states.

At the end of his speech, the Head of the Authority noted that FAS aims to develop cooperation within the framework of the EAEU and BRICS.

“I am confident that by actively participating in the implementation of the measures taken within the framework of the EAEU, the antimonopoly authorities of the Union and the Eurasian Economic Commission will make a significant contribution to achieving the goals set to stabilize the economic situation, the effective functioning of markets for the benefit of the citizens of our countries,” Maxim Shaskolskiy said.

For reference:

The Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) is a permanent supranational regulatory body of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU).
The EAEU includes the Republic of Armenia, the Republic of Belarus, the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic and the Russian Federation.
