FAS AND TELECOM OPERATORS HAVE DEVELOPED A SERVICE FOR FILLING A COMPLAINT ABOUT SPAM ADVERTISING

02-06-2022 | 13:37

Due to the large number of complaints from citizens about spam calls and SMS, including from abroad using fake numbers, the competition authority, together with telecom operators, launched a service of citizens' appeals to operators in order to promptly block unwanted advertising that comes to subscribers without their consent.

At the moment, a form for filing a complaint about spam advertising has appeared on the websites of FAS and three telecom operators - MTS, Tele2, Megafon. In the near future, the service will also work on the websites of other operators.

With the help of the special form, the subscriber can leave a complaint about the received voice or SMS advertising and promptly receive a response from his operator. Unsolicited ads are expected to be blocked within 72 hours.

This joint work will be a continuation of the “Anti-spam” project that FAS is implementing with telecom operators within the framework of a memorandum.
