THE STATE DUMA ADOPTED IN THE FIRST READING A DRAFT LAW PREPARED BY FAS ON STRENGTHENING THE CONTROL OF FOREIGN PARTICIPATION IN FISHING
FAS proposed to establish state control not only over companies that are engaged in fishing for aquatic biological resources, but also those carrying out other production processes in the field of fishing.
It is planned to expand the list of activities of strategic importance for ensuring the country's defense and state security. It is planned to introduce a comprehensive concept of “fishing”, which includes acceptance, handling and processing, transshipment, transportation, storage of fish products.
According to the Authority, the adoption of the draft law will ensure the priority of the supply of fish products to the domestic market. Becides, it will promote transparent pricing, which will ultimately lead to price stabilization in this market.
