FAS HAS DEVELOPED STANDARDS FOR GAS SALES ON THE STOCK EXCHANGE FOR GAZPROM AND INDEPENDENT PRODUCERS

According to the National Competition Development Plan, by 2026 at least 10% of natural gas from the total volume of its supplies to the domestic market should be sold on the stock exchange

According to FAS, it is necessary to establish minimum volumes of exchange sales of natural gas for Gazprom PJSC at least 10% of the volume of supplies to the domestic market, for independent producers who occupy a dominant position in the market – at least 3%, in the future – at least 10% for both categories of energy suppliers.

The service proposes to approve an order on the minimum value of gas sales on the stock exchange by analogy with the order in the market of petroleum products, where certain standards for sales of gasoline and diesel fuel are established.

Consumers of natural gas, purchasing it on the stock exchange, receive a number of advantages, the main of which is the ability to plan purchases for a long time using a transparent pricing mechanism.

The adoption of the order will allow the use of stock quotes as indicators of market prices for gas, and will also help to prevent establishing monopolistically high prices of goods.
