FAS FINED PAO "T PLUS" 846.5 MILLION RUB
FAS Russia found the company violating antimonopoly legislation
In 2021, FAS Russia revealed that the price requests of PAO "T Plus" exceed the value of the actual costs of electricity production in the corresponding hour by an average of 70-90%, and in some cases by more than 2 times.
This had an impact on the formation of an equilibrium price for electricity in the free flow zone of Vyatka, the first Price zone, where the company has a dominant position.
In the future, such actions affected the cost of electricity in the wholesale market and led to an additional financial burden for consumers, which was estimated at 66.8 million RUB per month.
Thus, PAO "T Plus" manipulated prices on the wholesale electricity and capacity market. This is a violation of the Law on Protection of Competition (Paragraph 11 of the Part 1 of the Article 10 of the Law on Protection of Competition.)
In accordance with the Code of Administrative Offences of the Russian Federation, an administrative case was initiated to determine the amount of the fine. Based on the results of investigation, FAS Russia imposed a turnover fine in the amount of 846.5 million RUB. The funds must be paid to the federal budget of the Russian Federation.
