FAS APPROVED GUIDELINES FOR DEVELOPMENT OF TRADE POLICIES FOR SULPHUR PRODUCERS
Guidelines apply to participants in foreign trade activities and will provide producers of fertilizers with the necessary amount of sulphur
Recommendations* were developed in accordance with the Decree of the Government of the Russian Federation**.
The FAS Russia notes that 80% of sulphur in industry is used for production of sulphuric acid. In turn, 78% of sulphuric acid goes to the production of mineral fertilizers for sowing campaign by domestic farmers.
Participants in foreign trade activities, which are producers of sulphur, need to develop trade and distribution policies. They should provide for marginal sales prices of sulphur for Russian producers of mineral fertilizers that supply them to the domestic market. Such marginal prices are formed on the basis of the level of average sulphur prices that established in May-July 2021 and their indexation by analogy with mineral fertilizers.
The FAS Russia recommends preliminary approval of the drafts of such documents with the Authority.
The measures taken will help to stabilize the prices of sulphur in the domestic market.
