FAS HAS AGREED ON PREFERENCE FOR CHUKOTSNAB JSC TO SUPPORT RESIDENTS OF THE FAR NORTH

10-10-2022 | 11:07

Granting of preferences will allow carrying out cargo operations, including those related to the import of fuel and food to remote settlements of the region [1]

The Department of Finance, Economy and Property Relations of the Chukotka Autonomous District applied to FAS Russia with an application for approval of the state preference. The purpose of the preference is to ensure the vital activity of the population in the regions of the Far North and areas equated to them [2].

We are talking about the transfer to the gratuitous use of a berth facility for use for parking and servicing ships, carrying out cargo operations, including those related to the import of fuel and food to remote villages of the Chukotka Autonomous District.

FAS Russia found that the company is engaged in cargo and container handling, loading and unloading of dangerous goods on inland waterway transport and in seaports, as well as their transportation. Thus, the company's activities meet the stated purpose of the preference.

In this regard, FAS Russia has decided to consent to the granting of state preferences with the introduction of restrictions. These include – the targeted use of the object without transferring the rights to use the property to other persons and the limitation of the duration of the preference for three years.

FAS Russia will monitor compliance with the requirements of the antimonopoly legislation when using the preference. When violations are detected, the service issues an order to take appropriate measures [3].
