FAS ORDERED THE REGULATOR OF THE REPUBLIC OF BURYATIA TO EXCLUDE 260 MILLION RUB OF UNREASONABLE COSTS FROM TARIFFS

Regional Tariff and Pricing Service committed a number of violations that led to an increase in the tariff burden on consumers – citizens and entrepreneurs

FAS Russia conducted an unscheduled inspection of the Republican Tariff Service of the Republic of Buryatia. It is about tariffs in the fields of electric power, heat supply, water supply and sanitation, established for the 7 largest regulated organizations in the region*.

The authority found that the regulator did not fully analyze the economic feasibility of the costs included in the tariff, and also took into account the costs that were not necessary for regulated activities.

FAS Russia has issued an order to the Republican Tariff Service of the Republic of Buryatia to eliminate the detected violations. The regulatory body must execute it by May 1, 2023.
