FAS HAS INITIATED CASE AGAINST THE LARGEST CLAY PRODUCER

Orsk Non-metallic Company JSC increased the price of clay by 4 times in 2022

Due to the large number of applications received about the increase in the cost of refractory clay, FAS Russia analyzed of the state of competition. The authority found that this market is highly concentrated and is characterized by the presence of barriers, and access to it requires significant time and financial costs. At the same time, Orsk Non-Metallic Company is the largest manufacturer and occupies a dominant position in this market. An analysis of the company's business performance indicators showed that the price set by it exceeds the amount of necessary expenses and profits for production and sale.

The authority initiated a case on violation of antimonopoly legislation* against the Orsk Non-metallic Company.

When the organization is found guilty, it faces a turnover fine in accordance with the Code of Administrative Offences of the Russian Federation.
