FAS: AN ADDITIONAL MECHANISM FOR STABILIZING PRICES FOR ESSENTIAL GOODS HAS BEEN DEVELOPED

28-04-2023 | 11:24

It provides regional authorities with the opportunity to conclude agreements on restraining prices for socially significant food products with retail chains, if necessary*

The corresponding Resolution** was adopted by the Government of the Russian Federation.

FAS Russia emphasizes that the agreements will be voluntary and become a measure aimed at curbing prices. At the same time, the regions will independently determine the need to sign such agreements and the positions of the goods in respect of which they will be concluded.

The adoption of the document will contribute to the stabilization of prices for socially significant goods and increase their accessibility for citizens, which is especially important for the authorities of the new territories.
