FAS SENT LETTERS TO NINE OIL COMPANIES DEMANDING TO INCREASE GASOLINE SALES ON THE STOCK EXCHANGE

15-06-2023 | 14:49

Over the last 5 months, the decrease in volume was 7.9 %

It led to an unsatisfied demand for AI-92 and AI-95 gasoline in the domestic market. In this regard, there is a significant change in wholesale (exchange) prices for petroleum products.

The authority sent letters to oil companies to increase the volume of petrol sales on the stock exchange.

In the lack of appropriate respond, the authority may consider such actions as signs of violation of the Law on Protection of Competition and can initiate antimonopoly cases.

Besides, an increase in the mandatory standard of sales on the stock exchange for petroleum products is being worked out.

FAS Russia also closely monitors the pricing of petroleum products in the retail segment.  In three regions, the regional offices of the authority have already begun to apply antimonopoly response measures – requests for information were sent to market participants in Ingushetia and Kabardino-Balkaria regarding the prices of LPG and in the Crimea for gasoline.

Currently, the analysis of pricing for petroleum products is continued in other regions.
