FAS RUSSIA WILL ANALYZE PRICE FORMATION OF DAIRY PRODUCTS

FAS Russia has directed requests to the largest milk producers and trade networks for the submission of the necessary information for analysis

On the basis of the received data, the department will assess the pricing mechanism in the chain "producer - processor - trading network - consumer" for violations of the antimonopoly legislation. In case of violations, the authority will take appropriate measures.

Besides, letters have been sent to dairy producers on the necessity for fair market behavior, the inadmissibility of creating an artificial deficit of the product, as well as compliance with the prohibitions established by the Law on the Protection of Competition, including the prohibition of unreasonable price increases.

Since March 2023, FAS Russia and its regional offices receive appeals from agricultural producers on the reduction of prices for the purchase of raw milk. In particular, such appeals are currently being considered by the Krasnodar and Rostov OFAS Russia.
