FAS: UNCTAD HAS EXTENDED THE MANDATE OF THE WORKING GROUP ON CROSS-BORDER CARTELS
The extension of the mandate of the Working Group is enshrined in the Resolution of the 21st Session of the UNCTAD Intergovernmental Group of Experts on Competition Law and Policy
Andrey Tsyganov, Deputy Head of FAS Russia, stressed the importance of the Working Group for the international competitive community. During the meetings, the participants use examples to consider the difficulties that arise when investigating a particular cross-border cartel. The extension of the mandate will allow the participating countries to continue to share experience and improve mechanisms for combating cross-border cartels.
The speaker also suggested documenting the results of the Working Group's activities with a view to their further use them in practice, as well as their transformation into universal UN recommendations on international cooperation in the investigation of cross-border cartels.

UNCTAD is a body of the UN General Assembly, established in 1964. To date, 195 countries are members of UNCTAD.
